This Privacy Policy explains how Ardect ("Ardect," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://ardect.com (the "Site"), use Ardect Video at video.ardect.com or the Ardect Video Chrome extension (together, "Ardect Video"), or contact us. By using the Site or Ardect Video, you agree to the practices described here.
The Site
Information You Provide
If you email us, we collect the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, company, and the contents of your message.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting provider automatically records limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested.
Cookies and Analytics
The Site does not use analytics, advertising pixels, session recording, or tracking cookies.
Ardect Video and the Chrome Extension
Ardect Video is used for internal business communication by Ardect staff and the people they share videos with. When you use it, we process:
- Recordings. Screen, camera, microphone, and system audio, captured only when you start a recording. The extension does not record in the background.
- Transcripts generated from a recording's audio.
- AI-generated titles and summaries of a recording.
- View analytics. When someone watches a video, we record approximate location (derived from IP address), browser, and device type.
- Account details. Your Google account name and email address, used to sign you in.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiries.
- To provide Ardect Video: storing and playing recordings, transcribing and summarizing them, showing owners who watched, signing you in, and sending service emails.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and Ardect Video.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers who process it on our behalf: Google Cloud (hosting and storage), AssemblyAI (transcription), OpenRouter (AI-generated summaries), Tinybird (view analytics), Resend (email delivery), and Vercel (Site hosting).
- Legal compliance when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Data Retention
Recordings, transcripts, and summaries are kept until their owner deletes them. View analytics are kept long-term. Other information is kept for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, and to resolve disputes, and is then deleted or anonymized.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know what information we collect and the right to request deletion. To exercise any of these rights, or to ask us to delete a recording or your account, email hi@ardect.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Children's Privacy
The Site and Ardect Video are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
